Mechanical & Life Safety Upgrades
Upgrades to mechanical and life safety systems at various campuses throughout Keller ISD were approved as part of the 2019 Bond Election.
Priority work expected to begin in the summer of 2020 includes:
- Cooling tower replacement at Keller High
- Cooling tower and pump system replacement at Willis Lane Elementary
- Cooling tower and pump system replacement at North Riverside Elementary
The District utilized a list of contractors available through the Texas State Cooperative Purchasing Network to solicit bids for this work, and selected the low bid proposers for each project.
Additional upcoming projects include:
- Replacement of central plant chillers, boilers, pumps, and all associated equipment at Chisholm Trail Intermediate
The total cost for this first phase of projects is $3.5 million. The total budgeted costs allocated for equipment replacement of this type is approximately $17 million out of the $30.8 million identified for equipment and life safety upgrade projects within the Bond Proposal.
