FHMS Partners with Local Domestic Violence Support Group

Fossil Hill Middle School is partnering with Hagar's Heart, a local organization dedicated to aiding survivors of domestic violence, as part of the school’s commitment to positively impact their community.

Fossil Hill AVID and campus student advisory classes are coming together for a meaningful cause during North Texas Giving Day – they're gathering essential donations for "I See You" boxes. The "I See You" boxes contain practical essentials needed during challenging times, including toiletries, socks, and even a touch of comfort in the form of chocolate. However, what truly sets these boxes apart is the heartfelt handwritten letter enclosed within each box.

"These boxes carry not only essential items but also a handwritten letter of encouragement letting the recipient know they are seen, they are worthy, and they are loved," said Coach Aaron Molinar, a driving force behind this initiative.

Coach Molinar reached out to Hagar's Heart and had the privilege of connecting with its founder, Jennifer Jones. Recently, Coach Molinar invited Ms. Jones to visit Fossil Hill and share insights about her organization with students and staff.

Fossil Hill will host a donation drive through September 21, culminating on North Texas Giving Day. Once all the donations have been collected, students will diligently assemble the boxes, readying them for delivery to Hagar's Heart.

“An estimated 500 boxes will be distributed between now and the holiday season,” Molinar said. “I hope to have one box for every day of the month. If we can get 31 boxes completed, I will be thrilled.”

If you wish to contribute to Fossil Hill's goal, you can order items from the Hagar’s Heart Amazon Wish List and have them shipped to the Fossil Hill campus located at 3821 Staghorn Circle S, Fort Worth, 76137. You can also view the "I See You" box supply list here.
