KISD Announces New BWES, SGES Principals

Keller ISD has announced two principal transitions to fill vacant positions ahead of the 2024-25 school year, naming Nathan Roub the new Principal at Basswood Elementary School and Brad Tyler the new Principal at Shady Grove Elementary School. 

Headshot of Nate RoubRoub is currently the Principal at Park Glen Elementary School, where he has been for the past two-and-a-half years. Overall, he has 12 years of experience in public education, including working as a teacher in Dallas ISD for six years. He joined Keller ISD as an Assistant Principal at Keller-Harvel Elementary, where he worked for three years before taking over as Principal at Park Glen. Roub holds a Master's in Educational Leadership from SMU and a bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin University.

"Mr. Roub has a proven track record of success as a leader in Keller ISD,” said Assistant Superintendent Kevin Hood. “I believe his collaborative approach and passion for student and staff growth aligns with the campus and community shared goal of providing the best possible education for our young Basswood Panthers.”

Headshot of Brad TylerTyler, Shady Grove's new Principal, is currently the Principal at Keller ISD’s Parkwood Hill Intermediate School, where he has been for the past 11 years. Prior to that, he served as an Assistant Principal at Caprock Elementary School for three years. Overall, he has 18 years of experience in public education and has worked in Keller ISD for that entire time. Tyler holds a Master's in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas and two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Texas at Dallas.

“Having served as an elementary school assistant principal and, more recently, an intermediate school principal, Mr. Tyler brings a unique perspective that will be invaluable to the SGES community,” Hood said. “His belief in teamwork and dedication to building relationships with students, staff, parents, and the broader community align with the shared goals of the Shady Grove Stars.”

Both principals will complete the current school year at their current campuses before joining their new schools in the summer. Keller ISD administrators have already begun the process of searching for the next principals for PGES and PHIS.
