Non-Profit Private School Notification

  • The Keller Independent School District will be submitting a consolidated application for federal programs funding for the 2023-24 school year to the Texas Education Agency. 

    The United States Department of Education requires Keller ISD to offer federally funded educational services to eligible children attending non-profit private elementary and secondary schools in the geographical area served by Keller ISD. 

    The Title I Schoolwide Campuses to be served in Keller ISD for the 2022-23 school year are: Basswood Elementary, Bluebonnet Elementary, Caprock Elementary, Friendship Elementary, Heritage Elementary, North Riverside Elementary, Parkview Elementary, Whitley Road Elementary, Fossil Hill Middle School, and Vista Ridge Middle School. Private schools are deemed non-profit if they are exempt from paying federal taxes and have a letter of exempt status under Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code.  

    The following federally funded programs are addressed in this policy:

    Title I, Part A: Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged
    Title II, Part A: Preparing, Training and Recruiting High Quality Teachers and Principals
    Title III, Part A: Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant Students
    Title IV, Part A: Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) Program

    Any non-profit private school seeking to participate in these programs should contact Leigh F. Cook, Director of State and Federal Programs, by email at Leigh.Cook@KellerISD.net no later than 4 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2024. After April 29, 2024, a Zoom consultative session will be scheduled to discuss the design, development, and assessment of the federal program benefits.
