Homeschool Fine Arts Participation
The activities listed below are the only UIL offerings available through Keller ISD’s homeschool participation program. Other Fine Arts activities not listed are non-UIL and are not open to homeschool student participation at this time.
UIL Offerings Available to Homeschool Students
Middle School Band
- Concert Sight Reading (Spring Semester Only) – Audition by October of year wanting to participate
- Class everyday January -March
- UIL contest in April
- Student unenrolled in April
High School Band
- Marching Band – Audition by July of year wanting to participate
- Summer band in July
- Class everyday August-November
- UIL marching contest end of October
- Student unenrolled in December
- Contest Sight Reading (Spring Semester Only) – Audition by October of year wanting to participate

- UIL contest in March

Middle School Choir

High School Theatre
- One Act Play (Only) – Auditions held in late November/December of year wanting to participate
- Audition late November/early December
- After-school activity only – some campuses may require attendance in Theatre Production class
Enrollment Process
- Contact Keller ISD Fine Arts at 817-744-1251 to receive Application for KISD Homeschool Fine Arts Participation
- Application available day after Memorial Day
- Application for KISD Homeschool Fine Arts Participation must be completed by July 15 for any UIL fine arts participation the following school year. (This deadline allows time for marching band students to complete the application and audition for a spot before Marching Band Camp starts August 1.)
- Complete audition packet for respective art strand.
- Student must still audition for a place in the fine arts program after being accepted by the district into the homeschool program and having their residency verified. Some students may not meet the audition standards and may not be accepted into the program even after receiving approval of their application and residency verification.
