Homeschool AFJROTC Participation
Keller ISD is pleased to offer eligible homeschooled high school students residing within district boundaries the opportunity to participate in the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Central High School.
Eligibility Requirements
To participate in AFJROTC, homeschool students must:
- Reside within Keller ISD attendance boundaries;
- Be homeschooled full time;
- Be enrolled in grades 9-12;
- Not be enrolled in a public, private, charter, or online school;
- Demonstrate grade-level academic proficiency through an approved nationally norm-referenced assessment;
- Meet all participation requirements established by Keller ISD and the AFJROTC program; and
- Comply with the Keller ISD Student Code of Conduct and JROTC standards.
Application Process
Interested families must complete the Homeschool JROTC Participation Application and submit all required documentation during the application window.
- Complete Keller ISD New Student Enrollment Form
- Complete and return signed JROTC Homeschool Application
- Submit proof of residency
- Submit academic eligibility documentation
Applications will be reviewed after the application window closes. Families will be notified regarding eligibility and next steps prior to the start of the school year.
Application Timeline
- Application Opens: June 1
- Application Closes: July 15
- Eligibility Review: July/August
- Participation Begins: Start of School Year
Program Expectations
Homeschool students participating in JROTC are expected to:
- Attend all required JROTC classes, activities, and events, as assigned;
- Follow all JROTC uniform, grooming, and conduct standards;
- Comply with Keller ISD policies and procedures;
- Maintain academic eligibility requirements; and
- Demonstrate appropriate citizenship, leadership, and character.
