Dr. Rick Westfall, Superintendent
Dr. Rick Westfall is in his second year as Keller ISD Superintendent, having spent the previous six years as the Deputy Superintendent in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. A familiar face to many in KISD, Dr. Westfall served as the principal of Keller High School from 2008-11.
While at GCISD, Dr. Westfall led the district’s instructional division including Curriculum and Instruction, Campus Leadership, Continuous Improvement and Accountability, Technology, and CTE. He was responsible for the implementation of the district’s strategic plan – LEAD 2021 – and was actively involved in the planning and design of construction resulting from GCISD’s $249 million 2016 bond package.
Dr. Westfall holds a Doctorate in Education Administration degree from Tarleton State University, a Master’s Degree from Texas Christian University, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Miami University (Ohio). He and his wife Michelle – a former elementary school teacher – have been married for 25 years, and his son Grant is a senior in high school.
(The superintendent is not a member of the board of trustees and does not vote on matters related to the district. However, he is the lead administrative officer and works with the board president to set board meeting agendas.)
