Keller ISD held its final round of the Keller Shake competition on Thursday, November 9, where Eleanor Stapula from Ridgeview Elementary was named the 2023 champion.
Congratulations are also in order to second-place winner Addalyn Jones from Independence Elementary, and third-place winner Caroline Gorrell from Willis Lane Elementary.
Keller Shake is a competition held throughout the District's elementary school theatre classes, where students learn the value of voice, diction, eye contact, and a firm handshake. The emphasis is on educating the whole child with a greater understanding of conversational and social skills.
Preliminary rounds were held on each campus, and the top five students from each school advanced to the Semifinals round. These Semifinalists demonstrated their skills at the KISD Education Center on Monday, October 30 where 30 finalists were announced. The top finishers returned to the Education Center for the final round on Thursday, November 9, where they met and visited with professionals from the community. The Keller Shake is funded by a generous grant from the Hudson Foundation, and free shakes from Chick-fil-a Alliance.
