Keller ISD’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved the District’s 2023-24 Instructional Calendar at its Regular Meeting on December 12, 2022. 

The 2023-24 calendar includes 77,400 operational minutes from August 16, 2023, to May 24, 2024. 

Keller ISD will begin the year on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, with a three-day first week of school to allow teachers and students to build relationships and establish routines for the new year. There will be four extended weekends throughout the year: 

• September 2-4
• January 13-15 
• February 16-19 (four-day student weekend; three-day employee weekend) 
• March 29-April 1 (four-day student weekend; three-day employee weekend)

Fall Break, a new addition to the KISD calendar, will be held on October 9-13, 2023. 

Thanksgiving Break will be held November 20-24, 2023. The first semester will conclude before the Winter Break, which will be held from December 18, 2023-January 3, 2024, for students. Employees will return from the Winter Break on Tuesday, January 2, for a Teacher Prep Day. 

Spring Break will be held March 11-15, 2024. Students will have a holiday, Friday, March 8, 2024, for a Teacher Prep Day, before the entire District closes March 11-15.

The school year will end again before Memorial Day, concluding on Thursday, May 23, 2024. High School Graduations will again be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2024, at Dickies Arena. 

The calendar includes banked minutes for two instructional days that might be lost due to bad weather, as the state requires. In the event that inclement weather forces the closure of a school, those banked minutes will be used instead of making up the day.
