Keller ISD Campuses Honor Veterans

Veterans Day is November 11, and many Keller ISD campuses are hosting events or participating in special lessons to honor those who have served.

See the list below and share your favorite moments on social media using #KISDthanksVeterans. Be sure to check back frequently as more details will be added as the District receives them.

Wednesday, November 9

Vista Ridge Middle School | 2:30 p.m.
A special ceremony will be held to honor Veterans and the KISD JROTC will be presenting colors featuring some former Vista Ridge students.

Thursday, November 10

Willis Lane Elementary | 8:30 a.m.
Veterans will parade through the halls with their students and then enjoy a musical performance while eating a light breakfast.

Bette Perot Elementary | 6:00 p.m.
They will honor Veterans with a special musical program.

Independence Elementary | 6:00 p.m.
The third-grade class will perform their special Veterans Day program.

Whitley Road Elementary | 6:00 p.m.
They will honor Veterans with a special program.


Friday, November 11

Sunset Valley Elementary | 7:15 a.m.
Breakfast will be held in the cafeteria along with a Veterans Day performance at 8:30 a.m.

Timber Creek High School | 7:45 a.m.
The TCHS Student Council will host Veterans for a special breakfast in the library.

Basswood Elementary | 7:45 a.m.
Family members who are veterans and active duty service members are invited to a breakfast and a brief performance in the library. If you are a veteran, please visit the following link for details and to RSVP: bit.ly/bwevets

Fossil Hill Middle School | 7:45 a.m.
They will host a breakfast for Veterans.

Freedom Elementary | 7:50 a.m.
They will host a breakfast for Veterans followed by a performance by the students.

Ridgeview Elementary | 8:00 a.m.
They will host a breakfast for the Veterans and their children in the cafeteria, followed by a parade in the hallways.

Keller Middle School | 8:00 a.m.
Students will honor military service members with a special ceremony.

Trinity Meadows Intermediate | 8:00 a.m.
Special ceremonies will be held to honor Veterans for the 5th and 6th grade classes. Current and retired service members from their employees and student families are invited to attend.

Parkwood Hill Intermediate School | 8:00 a.m.
Breakfast will be held followed by Veterans Day assemblies held at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.

Friendship Elementary | 8:05 a.m.
A parade will be held to honor Veterans, including a special photo opportunity.

Florence Elementary | 8:15 a.m.
Each grade level will perform for Veterans and First Responders in the school’s cafeteria.

Hidden Lake Elementary School | 8:30 a.m.
Breakfast for the families of Veterans will be held in the cafeteria, followed by a slideshow featuring pictures of the Veterans and a student performance.

Keller-Havel Elementary School | 8:30 a.m.
Students will have a special musical performance in recognition of Veterans Day.

Bluebonnet Elementary | 8:30 a.m.
The second-grade class will perform "Honor the Brave," a musical salute to all who are serving or have served our country.

Independence Elementary | 8:30 a.m.
The third-grade class will perform their special Veterans Day program followed by a reception in the library.

Parkview Elementary | 8:45 a.m.
A Veterans parade will begin in the gym, then they will be escorted to the auditorium for a performance by the third-grade class.

Indian Springs Middle School | 9:00 a.m.
The PTA will host a breakfast honoring Veterans followed by a performance from the theater, choir, and band students.

Woodland Springs Elementary | 9:00 a.m.
The fourth-grade class will perform a musical tribute for Veterans and their families.

Liberty Elementary | 9:00 a.m.
They will have a student-only Veteran's Day parade, including placing flags around the front flagpole. Also, a Veteran Wall of Honor with photos will be displayed on campus.

Shady Grove Elementary | 9:15 a.m.
The third-grade class will perform their special Veterans Day program.

Keller High School | 9:45 a.m.
They will host a program in the Fine Arts Center for students and Veterans.

ELC North | 10:00 a.m.
Students will bring in pictures of veterans from their families and the campus will create a wall of honor in the hallway.

Caprock Elementary | 1:30 p.m.
Veterans are invited to attend a short celebration honoring their service to our country.

Park Glen Elementary | 1:30 p.m.
They will host a Veterans Day parade. Students will stand outside while the Veterans drive through the drive, followed by an outside reception at the pavilion.

Hillwood Middle School | 2:30 p.m.
Refreshments will be provided in the library for veterans and their families, with an assembly directly following.

Lone Star Elementary | 7:30 p.m.
Breakfast will be served, followed by a parade and flag placement by students.
