 Driveline Procedures

Parents and Guardians,

Park Glen Elementary is very fortunate to have a close community in walking distance to the school; however, this brings the challenges of a concentrated pedestrian and automotive population wanting to enter and exit at the same time. In an effort to find a solution, teachers, staff, parents, the KISD Facility’s Department, and Fort Worth Police Department worked together to identify the causes of our transportation issues. The group and the results of the informal traffic impact study found congestion patterns, positions, and adjustments would be needed. Please adhere to the following driveline procedures to help in these efforts. Link to driveline map Driveline map

 Short Version

  • WHO: All car riders will have “one additional line” to drive into from the back entrance. If picking up your child in the front, please do not wait under the entrance or driveline awnings. The congestion causes difficulty for the children to locate where they need to report for pick-up.
  • WHAT: This process effects for morning and afternoon drop-off and pick-up riders (car, bus, & day-care vans).
  • HOW: Display the student/teacher driver’s card to the teacher on the walkie-talkie. Cards identify and expedite student dismissal. Daycare vans will enter and dismiss from the parking lot near the east cafeteria door entrance.
  • Use visitor or street parking. Parking in employee spaces can make us late for duty and the supervision of children. We understand parking can be a hassle (we do!) – but please do not park in designated spots.
  • FWPD will periodically patrol the area. Please do not park or drop off your children on school curb of Black Hills Drive. This space remains open for emergency vehicles.

Our Goal Our larger goal is to ensure for the safety of students and staff. Please consider the following to assist us with this goal:

  • Use crosswalks. It is a good example for the children and those driving can easily identify pedestrians.
  • Use visitor or street parking. Parking in employee spaces can make us late for duty and the supervision of children. We understand parking can be a hassle (we do!) – but please do not park in designated spots.
  • All visitor spots need to be vacated by 2:45 to allow for bus parking
  • Display the student/teacher driver’s card. Cards identify and expedite student dismissal.

If you have any concerns, or even a good note, please forward these to the front office or our campus principal, Marci Formby (marci.formby@kellerisd.net).

Thank you in advance for your support and help as we work together for the safety of our staff, students, and community.
