Go Red Day
Description
Keller ISD is excited to participate in this year's American Heart Association District Heart Challenge, and everyone in KISD will be encouraged to wear red on Friday, February 2, for National Go Red Day.
Did you know that heart disease is the number one killer of all Americans? The good news is that 80 percent of the risk factors are preventable!
Plan to wear red on February 2 as we show our support for the American Heart Association and encourage our community to be heart healthy by getting their blood pressure checked, staying active, and making smart dietary decisions.
The campus with the highest participation in the event will earn a plaque and a healthy snack basket for the faculty break room from the American Heart Association.
Sign up to pledge your support for a Heart Healthy Keller ISD by visiting www.Heart.org/DistrictHeartChallenge, searching for "Keller," and then selecting your campus. Through that website, you can make a $20 donation for this year's Go Red T-shirt. All proceeds benefit the American Heart Association and its mission. (Online donations only; no cash or checks will be accepted.) Shirts must be ordered by January 12 in order to receive them in time for February 2's Go Red Day.
Be sure to share your support on Twitter using #GoRedKISD, and also make plans to join the Keller ISD community on Saturday, February 3, for the KISD Employee and Community Health and Wellness Fair at the Keller Center for Advanced Learning.
