Evolv Screening

Beginning in the spring of 2025, Keller ISD will be piloting a partnership with Evolv to implement advanced weapons detection equipment at campus entrances.

This new screening hardware and software has the potential to add an additional. layer of school safety and will first be piloted at Fossil Ridge High School. The program at FRHS will allow the system to be tested out at a comprehensive high school campus with a smaller student population before potentially expanding its use to other KISD high schools.

Evolv is not a metal detector, but rather a system that strategically detects prohibited items before they enter the school. The system is currently being utilized by other school districts across the nation, along with large entertainment venues, as the design allows large groups to be scanned quickly, as compared to traditional metal detectors. Evolv was previewed for Fossil Ridge High School families in December 2024, and the installation was completed in March 2025.
