Why Rookie Teacher Academy? 

Research shows that new teachers who participate in a teacher induction program while working alongside an experienced Mentor Teacher during their first year of teaching experience greater success and longevity in their teaching career. 

We support teachers for their first year through Rookie Teacher Academy.
 

Who Attends Rookie Teacher Academy? 

All newly hired professional educators with less than one full year of experience in the classroom need to attend our Rookie Teacher Academy.

Principals may require teachers who are returning to the classroom after a significant leave to attend Rookie Teacher Academy for its additional support.

 

What and When is Rookie Teacher Academy? 

Rookie Teacher Academy consists of:

• One day of learning prior to the start of the school year
• Two days of learning during the school year
• Regular check-ins with an assigned mentor and campus administration
