Deposits for meals may be made at any school campus cafeteria, at the Child Nutrition office, or online at www.schoolcafe.com. 

1. What are meal prices for the 2026-2027 school year? 

• Paid breakfast is $1.25 for all schools and reduced-price breakfast is free for all grade levels.
• Paid lunch for elementary is $3.00 and $0.00 for a reduced-price lunch.
• Paid lunch for secondary is $3.10 and 0.00 for a reduced-price lunch.

2. How do I complete a free/reduced meal application? 

• It is encouraged that all parents fill out a Free/Reduced Meal Application to see if they qualify for the program. 
• Online applications are available online at www.schoolcafe.com/KELLERISD. 
• Paper applications can also be filled out at your child’s campus, at the Child Nutrition Office located at 11300 Alta Vista Road in Keller, or the Keller ISD Education Center (front desk) during hours of operation.

3. What if my student has a negative meal balance prior to being approved for free or reduced meals?
Meal benefits start the day your application is approved by the office. Parents are responsible for any charges their student(s) incurs prior to their application being approved.

Meal benefits must be applied for every year. Starting July 1 or after, households are encouraged to apply for meal benefits for that upcoming school year.

4. How do I place purchase restrictions on my child's account?

To place purchase restrictions on your child's meal account, we recommend contacting our Child Nutrition Department directly. This allows us to customize restrictions based on your preferences.

If you have a School Café account, you can also log in and manage certain restrictions yourself. From the dashboard, select your child’s account and use the available settings to limit à la carte purchases by day.

Please note that restrictions placed by our office can be more detailed and customized than those available through School Café.

5. How do I put money in a student’s account? 
For card payments, www.schoolcafe.com/KELLERISD will facilitate adding money to a student’s account. To provide you with a detailed purchase history from the school cafeteria, low balance reminders, automated payments and more, School Café adds a small fee (5%) to certain online payments. These fees cover the operational and administrative costs of providing the convenience of these services. 

6. Can I put money in my student's account without using School Café? 
Yes. You may deposit cash or check directly with the cafeteria manager at your student’s school, leave it with your student’s front office so they can take it to the cafeteria, or bring it to the Child Nutrition office. The Child Nutrition office is located at 11300 Alta Vista Road, Keller, TX, 76244. We do not accept card payments at the register or over the phone.

7. Does School Café save my credit card information? 
There is an option to save your information for future payments. You can also set up the payment as a one-time payment and your information will not be saved in the School Café portal.

8. How do I receive a refund from my student's account? 
To receive a refund from your student’s account, please call the Child Nutrition office at 817- 744-3981 or email patricia.saniei@kellerisd.net. You will need to provide us with your current mailing address, student name & ID number, and guardian information. We only provide refunds in the form of a check which may take up to 7-10 business days to arrive after your request has been processed.

Keller ISD supports all students having access to nutritious meals during school hours, regardless of their financial circumstances. Once a student's meal account reaches or exceeds a negative balance of $25, a well-balanced alternative meal will be provided at no charge to the student. 

For breakfast, the meal will consist of a SunButter & jelly sandwich, a fruit and/or vegetable of the day, and the student's choice of milk. For lunch, the meal will consist of a turkey & cheese sandwich, a fruit and/or vegetable of the day, and the student's choice of milk. For households, who have completed the necessary district documentation for students with special dietary restrictions, those needs will be met when and if given the alternative meal. Students are not allowed to charge al a carte, snacks, drinks, extras, and/or second meals if they do not have enough money for those items at the time of service.

If your circumstances have changed and you feel that your household would qualify for free or reduced priced meals, you may fill out a paper application at your child's school or apply online at www.schoolcafe.com/KELLERISD.

Cash and check payments can be made at any cafeteria during mealtimes. If you wish to pay by card, then you may pay online at www.schoolcafe.com/KELLERISD. We do not accept card payments over the phone or at the cafeteria.
