1. What are meal prices for the 2024-2025 school year?
- Paid breakfast is $1.20 for all schools and reduced-price breakfast is free for all grade levels.
- Paid lunch for elementary is $2.95 and $.40 for a reduced-price lunch.
- Paid lunch for secondary is $3.05 and $.40 for a reduced-price lunch.
2. How do I complete a free/reduced meal application?
- It is encouraged that all parents fill out a Free/Reduced Meal Application to see if they qualify for the program.
- Online applications are available online at www.schoolcafe.com/KELLERISD.
- Paper applications can also be filled out at your child’s campus, at the Child Nutrition Office located at 11300 Alta Vista Road in Keller, or the Keller ISD Education Center (front desk) during hours of operation.
3. What if my student has a negative meal balance prior to being approved for free or reduced meals?
Meal benefits start the day your application is approved by the office. Parents are responsible for any charges their student(s) incurs prior to their application being approved.
Meal benefits must be applied for every year. Starting July 1 or after, households are encouraged to apply for meal benefits for that upcoming school year. If you apply before July 1, meal benefits will be effective for the current school year and will expire on June 30, assuming that your application is approved for free or reduced. For example, if you apply on May 5, 2025, and are approved the following day, your student’s meal benefits will expire on June 30, 2025. Households will still need to reapply on July 1, 2025, or after to be considered for the meal program for school year 2025-2026.

4. How do I put money in a student’s account?
For card payments, www.schoolcafe.com/KELLERISD will facilitate adding money to a student’s account. To provide you with a detailed purchase history from the school cafeteria, low balance reminders, automated payments and more, School Café adds a small fee (5%) to certain online payments. These fees cover the operational and administrative costs of providing the convenience of these services.
5. Can I put money in my student's account without using School Café?
Yes. You may deposit cash or check directly with the cafeteria manager at your student’s school, leave it with your student’s front office so they can take it to the cafeteria, or bring it to the Child Nutrition office. The Child Nutrition office is located at 11300 Alta Vista Road, Keller, TX, 76244. We do not accept card payments at the register or over the phone.
6. Does School Café save my credit card information?
There is an option to save your information for future payments. You can also set up the payment as a one-time payment and your information will not be saved in the School Café portal.
7. How do I receive a refund from my student's account?
To receive a refund from your student’s account, please call the Child Nutrition office at 817- 744-3981 or email patricia.saniei@kellerisd.net. You will need to provide us with your current mailing address, student name & ID number, and guardian information. We only provide refunds in the form of a check which may take up to 7-10 business days to arrive after your request has been processed.
