KISD Connect

Flexible Learning. Connected to KISD.
Keller ISD is developing KISD Connect, a new virtual and hybrid learning option for high school students that will provide greater flexibility in how and where they learn while keeping them connected to their Keller ISD high school, teachers, programs, activities, and support services.
Through KISD Connect, students will complete a combination of online and in-person courses while remaining enrolled at their KISD high school. Keller ISD has offered virtual learning opportunities for more than a decade, and KISD Connect builds on that experience and new opportunities for virtual and hybrid learning established by Senate Bill 569 and Texas Education Code Chapter 30B.
Coming in 2027–28!
KISD Connect is currently in development. Program details are being finalized and additional information will be added as it becomes available.
Who Might Benefit from KISD Connect?
KISD Connect may be a good option for students who:
- Benefit from flexibility in when and where they complete coursework
- Balance school with athletics, fine arts, CTE, work-based learning, or other commitments
- Need greater flexibility for medical or personal circumstances
- Are comfortable working independently and managing their time
- Want online learning options while remaining connected to a KISD high school
Is Virtual Learning Right for You?
We believe a strong virtual learner:
-
Is Self-Directed - Takes ownership of learning, manages time, and stays focused
-
Takes Initiative - Gets started, follows through, solves problems, and seeks resources
-
Communicates Proactively - Asks questions, communicates needs, and self-advocates
-
Is Responsible - Meets expectations, follows through on commitments, and manages responsibilities
-
Is Adaptable - Adjusts to change, responds to challenges, and perseveres when things do not go as planned
-
Uses Technology Effectively and with Integrity - Navigates digital tools and uses technology appropriately to support learning
What Students Can Expect
KISD Connect is being developed around both flexibility and student success. Students will not simply be given online coursework to complete on their own.
The program is being designed to include:
- A combination of online and in-person learning
- Rigorous courses aligned with Texas standards
- Instruction, communication, and feedback from KISD teachers
- Clear expectations, deadlines, and progress monitoring
- Academic and student support
- Continued connection to the student's KISD high school
- Access to applicable campus programs, activities, and services
