JROTC

Keller ISD is pleased to offer students the opportunity to participate in the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Central High School. JROTC is a leadership and citizenship program that develops character, self-discipline, responsibility, and service through classroom instruction, leadership training, physical wellness activities, community service, and extracurricular opportunities. Participation in JROTC does not require military service and is open to qualified homeschool students who meet district eligibility requirements.

Program Overview

AFJROTC is available to students in grades 9-12. The AFJROTC program is designed as a four-year leadership development sequence consisting of:

  • ROTC I
  • ROTC II
  • ROTC III
  • ROTC IV

Students may begin the program during any year of high school; however, all students will enroll in AFJROTC I regardless of grade level or prior experience. Students who continue in the program may progress through the remaining course sequence in subsequent years.

Through this four-year program, cadets develop leadership, citizenship, character, self-discipline, and teamwork skills while participating in classroom instruction, physical wellness activities, community service, and extracurricular opportunities.

Note: Participation in JROTC is subject to available space within the program and completion of all participation requirements.
