TSMS Chamber Mixed Choir Selected to Perform at SWACDA Conference
Excitement filled the Trinity Springs Middle School gym on Monday, July 7, as members of the TSMS Chamber Mixed Choir and their families gathered for a surprise announcement, where they learned that they have been selected as a featured performing ensemble for the 2026 Southwestern American Choral Directors Association (SWACDA) Conference.
This elite group of student vocalists, under the direction of Clinton Ferrie and Elizabeth King, will travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico, from March 4-7, 2026. There, they will take the stage to perform for a distinguished audience of choral directors, music educators, and fellow performers from across the region.

Being chosen to perform at SWACDA is a significant achievement, as the selection process is highly competitive and recognizes only the most outstanding choral programs in the region. The honor reflects the choir’s exceptional talent, dedication, and musical excellence.
SWACDA is a division of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), which proudly serves the states of Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The organization’s mission is to inspire excellence and nurture lifelong involvement in choral music through education, performance, composition, and advocacy.
According to SWACDA President Jonathan Owen, the 2026 conference will explore the theme “New Horizons” – a vision that aims to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation in choral music. The event will feature unforgettable performances, inspiring educational sessions, exceptional guest speakers, and valuable networking opportunities for fine arts educators.
Congratulations to the TSMS Chamber Mixed Choir for earning this remarkable opportunity to shine on a regional stage!
