PHIS, SVES Students Win Learning A-Z Summer Reading Challenge

A fifth-grader from Parkwood Hill Intermediate and a third-grader from Sunset Valley Elementary were the top two finishers in the Summer Learning A-Z Reading Challenge. Vincent Nguyen from SVES read 740 books, while Jannah Al Fatlawi from PHIS read 599 books. Each student won a Kindle Fire tablet and a headset with a speaker.

Over the summer, Learning A-Z partnered with Keller ISD to encourage students in grades K-5 to engage with Raz-Kids and Headsprout from May 24 to July 31. As a district, students logged in for 107,287 minutes of engagement! Notably, Willis Lane Elementary was a top performer, with its students racking up 17,318 minutes of engagement.

Thank you to all of the students who participated in this year's Summer Reading Challenge, and to Learning A-Z for sponsoring this contest and keeping our students engaged over the summer!
