KISD Track & Field Delivers Standout Performances at State Meet

Keller ISD high school athletes delivered standout performances at the Class 5A and Class 6A UIL State Track and Field Championships, held May 14-16 at the University of Texas in Austin. Keller ISD sent 11 athletes to compete at the State Meet, with several earning a place on the medal stand.

At the 5A level, Fossil Ridge’s Jayden Kennedy captured the State Championship in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.54. Teammate Xavier Amos placed in third in the race with a time of 20.79.

Kennedy came close to collecting a second title, earning a silver medal in the 100-meter dash after finishing in 10.24 seconds.

Meanwhile, Ridge's Caleb Woodard claimed second place in the triple jump with a mark of 49 feet, 6.25 inches.

In the 6A division, Keller High’s Anthony Abeyta earned a third-place finish in the 1,600-meter run, crossing the line in 4:12.73.

Several other Keller ISD athletes also represented their schools at the state meet with strong performances in their respective events:

Congratulations again to all of Keller ISD’s track and field athletes for their outstanding performances throughout the season, and to this year’s state qualifiers for representing their schools and community at the highest level of UIL competition.
