KISD Softball Teams Win Area Titles, Advance in UIL Playoffs
Keller and Timber Creek high school softball teams captured Area championships and advanced to the regional semifinals of the UIL playoffs.
Keller swept El Paso Socorro in two games to secure its title. The Lady Indians clinched the series in dramatic fashion, with a walk-off double in Game 2 to punch their ticket to the next round.
Keller will face Denton Guyer in a best-of-three regional semifinal series at Carroll High School (1501 W. Southlake Blvd). Game 1 is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, followed by Game 2 at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 7. If necessary, Game 3 will be played at 6 p.m. Friday, May 8. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased online.
Timber Creek also advanced after dropping Game 1 to Odessa before rallying to win Games 2 and 3 and claim the Area title.
The Lady Falcons will take on Hebron in a three-game series at Coppell High School Ninth Grade Campus (1301 Wrangler Circle). Game 1 is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, May 7, with Game 2 at 7 p.m. Friday, May 8. A third game, if necessary, will be played at noon Saturday, May 9. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and will be available for purchase online beginning at noon on each game day. Cash will not be accepted at the gate.
