KHS Wins UIL 6A State One-Act Play Contest

Keller High School’s theatre program delivered a breathtaking performance of Silent Sky at the UIL 6A State One-Act Play Contest on May 21 in Austin, earning the top prize of State Champions. 

Competing among the top eight 6A schools in Texas, these talented students captivated audiences and judges alike with their powerful storytelling and stagecraft. The production was skillfully directed by Mandi Tapia, Brian Ketcham, Chantz Cochran, and Shelby Pool.

Meanwhile, Fossil Ridge High School’s theatre department made history of its own in Class 5A. Performing a bold and moving production of Antigone, the Fossil Ridge troupe earned an impressive sixth-place finish at the 5A State One-Act Play Contest. Their outstanding work was guided by directors Kati Grimmer, Griffin Hammel, and Paul Raska.

In addition to their remarkable ensemble performances, several students from both Keller High and Fossil Ridge High were recognized with individual awards, honoring their exceptional talent, dedication, and on-stage excellence at the state level.
