Dr. Cory Wilson Named Interim Superintendent

The Keller ISD Board of Trustees has named Dr. Cory Wilson, current KISD Assistant Superintendent of Education Services, as Interim Superintendent of Schools.

Dr. Wilson has 27 years of experience in education, 23 of which have been spent in Keller ISD. After teaching at Parkwood Hill Intermediate School, he began his administrative career as the first assistant principal at Bette Perot Elementary School. He later served as principal at BPES, before opening Ridgeview Elementary School as its principal.

In 2013, he joined central administration as an Executive Director of Leadership, serving the District’s Title I and Bilingual campuses. He later served as Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools (West), an Area Superintendent, and most recently as Assistant Superintendent of Education Services.

“I appreciate Dr. Wilson’s willingness to lead the District during this transition,” said KISD Board President Dr. Charles Randklev. “His knowledge of Keller ISD and commitment to its students will provide valuable stability at this time.”

Dr. Wilson will serve in the Interim role while the Trustees begin the search for a new superintendent, following the departure of Dr. Tracy Johnson.

“Having been a part of Keller ISD for more than two decades, it’s an honor to have the opportunity to serve this community in this capacity,” Dr. Wilson said. “I’m looking forward to working with our administrative team as we continue the vital work of supporting our teachers and staff, while providing exceptional educational opportunities for our students.”

Trustees approved the appointment at their monthly Regular Meeting on January 30.
