CHS Girls Wrestling Team Crowned 2-6A District Champions

On January 31, the District 2-6A Wrestling Championships were held at Northwest High School, and the District 5-5A Wrestling Championships took place at Creekview High School. Keller ISD wrestlers claimed 16 individual district titles, with 59 athletes advancing to regional competition.

The Lady Chargers were crowned District 2-6A champions, led by four individual district champions. Central's Echo Cranor received the varsity girls District 2-6A Most Outstanding Lower Weight Wrestler. AJ Parchman from Keller High was crowned the District 2-6A Most Outstanding Upper Weight Wrestler. Overall, Keller ISD earned five boys and 11 girls district titles. The top four finishers in each weight class advanced to regionals.

Central High’s Marvin Lethridge was named Girls District Coach of the Year, and Aaron Faith was named Girls District Assistant Coach of the Year for District 2-6A. Melissa Watts from Fossil Ridge was named Girls District Coach of the Year for District 5-5A.

The 6A Region 1 Wrestling Tournament will take place on February 6-7 at Coppell High School (185 W. Parkway Blvd. in Coppell). The 5A Region 2 Regional Championships are scheduled for February 6-7 at Albert J. Loos Fieldhouse (3815 Spring Valley Road in Addison).
