Broadway Star Christy Altomare Surprises CHS Theatre Students

Central High School Theatre students received a special surprise when Christy Altomare, an original Broadway cast member of Anastasia, recorded a video announcement revealing the school’s fall musical.

Shared on the Central High School Theatre Facebook page, Altomare expressed her excitement for the production: “I hope you have as much fun as I did doing the show. It is such a blast! I'm just so excited for all of you!”

Her message inspired the cast and community as they prepare to bring Anastasia to the stage this December. Altomare will also host a virtual workshop with the cast during their rehearsal process.

CHS theatre director Brittany Mejia explained how the special moment came together. “I connected with Christy through a mutual friend, and she was happy to help us out,” Mejia said. “She was very kind and excited for the students to hear their show was Anastasia.”

Anastasia will be performed December 5-8 at Central High School. Once finalized, ticket information and show dates for all upcoming Keller ISD high school fall musicals will be available on the KISD website and social media channels.
