Then: Fossil Ridge High School, Class of 2000

Now: Parkview Elementary School, 4th Grade Teacher

"I moved to Texas in December of 1996, and started at Fossil Ridge halfway through my freshman year. After graduation, I studied at the University of North Texas in Denton, and when I was preparing for student teaching, they asked me to select the top three districts I would want to work with. I immediately chose Keller ISD as my first choice – not only was it my alma mater, but it was close to home, too. I was so lucky to get the opportunity to do my student teaching rotations in Keller ISD and even more fortunate to get placed at Parkview Elementary.

When I finished student teaching, I was able to stay on at Parkview as a long-term sub and TAKS tutor until the end of that school year. After that, I was officially offered a position for the upcoming fall, and in August 2006, I started my teaching career with my very first classroom at Parkview Elementary.

Nineteen years later, and I am still at the same campus! I love the students. I love the families. I love the community that makes up Parkview. I love seeing the students I've taught grow up and graduate from my alma mater. I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon – when the time comes, I would love to retire from Parkview knowing I have made (and left) a lifetime of amazing memories inside these walls and that I had a hand in making Parkview everything it is today and will continue to be in the future."
