"I really loved my time as a student in Keller ISD, and a lot of that had to do with having so many great teachers over the years. I always appreciated the effort they took to care for kids – coming up with ways to challenge those of us who were engaged in learning while finding ways to meet the needs of students who may have needed more motivation. After graduating from college with a degree in journalism (from the University of Oklahoma) and spending a few years working for a newspaper, I jumped at an opportunity to put those skills to work serving a school district and community to which I felt I owed so much. I’ve always known that I could never be a teacher – that’s not my gifting – but in my more than 17 years working for the district, I feel as though I’ve been able to provide at least some level of meaningful support for our schools. I’d like to think that my role allows our campuses to keep their focus on creating exceptional educational opportunities for students and helps teachers and staff feel celebrated and recognized for the important role they play in our community."
