Pregnancy Related Services

  • Keller ISD offers Pregnancy Related Services (PRS), including Compensatory Education Home Instruction (CEHI), for eligible students during both the pregnancy and postpartum periods while enrolled in Keller ISD. Keller ISD’s PRS program is designed to assist both pregnant and/or parenting male and female students to improve school attendance, increase graduation rates, and enhance parenting skills.

Compensatory Education Home Instruction (CEHI) is provided during the postpartum period, and upon physician’s order, during the pregnancy. Other PRS supports offered may include: counseling services that incorporate individual, peer, self-help and career guidance; assistance in obtaining services from government agencies and community service organizations such as health and nutrition programs; instruction related to knowledge and skills in child development, parenting, home and family living and job readiness training; assistance in selection and obtaining child care; case management and service coordination; monitoring of student attendance and academic progress; school and other health services.

Additional PRS program supports are available to meet the needs of eligible individual students.

Specific rules for PRS are found in the Texas Education Agency Student Attendance Accounting Handbook, Chapter 9.
