Parkview/Whitley Road Rebuilds
Replacements of Parkview Elementary School and Whitley Road Elementary School were approved as part of the 2019 Bond Election.
The design process for both schools began in the spring of 2020. These projects are slated to be completed in the summer of 2022. Both projects will be completed a year after the rebuilds of Florence Elementary School and Heritage Elementary School to the availability of land on the FES and HES property on which the new buildings can be constructed while school is held in the existing building.
VLK Architects completed the second series of planning charrette meetings with campus staff, parents, and administrative groups on the design concepts for both projects in early May. Participants asked a number of great questions that generated important conversation and positive feedback that will help VLK through the design process. The designs of both rebuilds are expected to be reviewed by the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee and approved by the Keller ISD Board of Trustees in June 2020.
VLK Architects held a virtual Zoom Charrette Planning Meeting in April with staff, parents, and administrative groups from Parkview Elementary and Whitley Elementary. VLK also utilized a software tool called Slido to gather feedback from participants and survey those involved in the activity to determine which design solutions would be preferred.
