• Dual Credit:
Keller ISD's Dual Credit Program is a way your student can earn college credit while in high school.

Our Dual Credit students take college-level courses taught by fully credentialed faculty. These courses satisfy high school graduation requirements and provide college credit at the same time.  The student receives one grade for the course.

    • Keller ISD will award high school academic credit.
    • TCC or Weatherford College will award college-level academic credit.

When Dual Credit students graduate from high school, they may have already completed transferable college credits.

    Dual Credit Failure Policy:

If a student fails the 1st-semester Dual Credit Course:

    • The student will be moved to the corresponding non-dual credit course for the second semester.

    • The student is dropped from the dual credit course.

    • Parents and students will be notified that the failing college grade will be part of their high school and college transcripts.

    • The student may earn 1st-semester credit through Credit Recovery, or the student may try to do grade averaging with 2nd semester to ensure credit for high school credit only for the year.

If a student fails the 2nd-semester Dual Credit Course:

    • The student will be dropped from the dual credit course.

    • Parents and students will be notified that the failing college grade will be part of their high school and college transcripts.

    • If the student’s 1st and 2nd-semester dual averages are passing, then the student is awarded high school course credit for the course. Otherwise, the student must earn 2nd-semester credit through Credit Recovery or enroll in the corresponding 2nd-semester non-dual course during a subsequent year.
