This course will focus on the many aspects of the automotive service industry. We start the program learning and reviewing safety concerns, career opportunities, tool usage, theory and proper repair procedures. Students will gain knowledge required to diagnose and repair automobiles in selected ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) tested subjects. The subjects include engines, brakes systems, electrical systems, automotive HVAC, steering and suspension, and engine performance. Students have the ability to improve their employability and technical skills through competitions and leadership opportunities within our career and technical student organization known as SkillsUSA.

The automotive department prides ourselves in the development of industry partnerships. Partnerships that span throughout the area to allow students the ability to go work in the industry through our approval process. Today's cars and trucks are high-tech machines that demand high skilled technicians for service and repair. Automotive technicians or in high demand for our area and throughout the country. If you are interested in learning the theory and repair of automobiles, please contact your counselor, or contact the staff at KCAL with your questions.
