Weather Alerts

  • 5:15 p.m. 1/16/24

Keller ISD schools and administrative offices will be open on a regular schedule Wednesday, January 17.

While Wednesday morning’s forecast calls for somewhat higher temperatures than Tuesday morning, it is still expected to be very cold. Please plan accordingly and allow for extra travel time to school as road conditions may vary across the District.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all work together to keep students safe.

    3:30 p.m. 1/15/24

Keller ISD schools and administrative offices will be closed Tuesday, January 16, due to inclement winter weather conditions and extreme cold temperatures.

While roads throughout the District have mostly cleared of overnight precipitation, extreme and dangerous wind chills are forecast for Tuesday morning’s arrival times. Additionally, the closure of neighboring districts is expected to have an impact on school staffing, and KISD’s facilities team has already identified at least a few facility issues that would have impacted some campus operations. Closing schools allows maintenance crews to address these issues and ensure that schools are prepared to offer a safe and distraction-free learning environment for students on Wednesday.

Any planned extracurricular activities – including athletics and fine arts events – are also canceled. Capacity for missed instructional days due to inclement weather is built into the minutes of KISD’s 2023-24 Instructional Calendar, so this day will not need to be made up.

At this time, Keller ISD anticipates reopening schools on Wednesday, January 17. However, District administrators will continue to monitor forecasts for the remainder of the week and make decisions based on conditions within the KISD community. 6:44 a.m. 1/15/24

Due to potentially hazardous road conditions, Keller ISD has canceled all student activities, including any practices or rehearsals, planned for Monday, January 15.

Campuses and administrative offices were already closed today due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.

All employees who were scheduled to work on Monday are being asked to remain home or return home if they already arrived to work.

The District will reevaluate conditions in the area on Monday afternoon as they relate to Tuesday's instructional day. We encourage everyone to stay safe and weather-aware on this Monday holiday.
