Keller ISD's Board of Trustees approved attendance zone realignments for the 2011-12 school year at its January 13 meeting.
The Keller Independent School District has experienced significant increases in student enrollment over the past 10 years. Each year the Administration evaluates student enrollment numbers at each of the campuses to determine if changes are necessary.
In November 2010, the Administration brought the initial proposals to the Board of Trustees and presented what information would be shared at the public boundary forums on November 30 and December 2. Public Boundary Forums were held at Florence Elementary, Hidden Lakes Elementary, Woodland Springs Elementary, Friendship Elementary, and Lone Star Elementary. The boundary forums were held to present the recommendations that were being made, receive feedback, and answer frequently asked questions.
At the December 9, 2010 Regular Board Meeting, the Administration reported the community feedback to the Board of Trustees and the District’s demographic consultant presented the boundary proposals to the Board. On January 13, 2011, the final attendance boundaries for the 2011-2012 school year were presented and approved.
