Vision: "The Diversity Committee's vision is to honor, embrace, reflect and strategically plan to enhance cultural awareness."
Mission: "The mission of the KISD Diversity Committee is to impact diversity awareness through effective recruitment, curricula enrichment, and community engagement to maximize success for all students."
Goals:
1) Improve 2% year to year from 2006 levels toward having administrative and instructional staff populations that reflect the parent/student community. 2015 is target date to be within 2% accuracy as a district.
2) Ensure curriculum is developing students that can more effectively relate to a global society and changing world in all disciplines (arts, sciences, business and career/technology).
3) Ensure campus environments are welcoming. All should feel valued and able to contribute to both school and extra-curricular activities as measured by surveys and increased minority participation in student activities.
