Vote for Timberview Middle as "Greenest School"

Timberview Middle School is a finalist in QA Graphics' Green School Contest and needs your vote to win.

QA Graphics is rewarding two schools for their sustainable efforts and will provide the winning schools with an Energy Efficiency Education Dashboard to help educate the next generation about being green. QA asked for entries from schools across the nation and Timberview is one of five finalists in the 6-12 grade category.

Timberview is set to open in August and will be Keller ISD's only campus to house grades 5-8. Among the energy saving features of TMS will be the reduction of electricity use by more than 28 percent by maximizing natural light, using efficient light fixtures and adding controls such as occupant sensors. The campus will also utilize a 10KW solar panel array which students will help keep clean and measure their performance.  Timberview will reduce its water use by 40 percent from ASHRE standards by using waterless urinals, along with a 50 percent reduction in irrigation by using drip hoses in flower beds, water efficient landscaping and smart controllers to make every drop count.

Keller ISD officials nominated TMS for QA's Green School Contest, and with the help of a number of judges, coordinated through the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Timberview was selected as one of 10 finalists (five in the K-5 grade level, and five 6-12).

Help Keller ISD get recognized for their Green efforts and vote today! Voting ends May 9.
