Fossil Ridge High School, Heritage Elementary School, and Fossil Hill Middle School were put on alert this morning, following a report of a social media threat made against Fossil Ridge High.
To ensure the safety of our students, there will be no outdoor activities on those campuses during the school day today. This morning’s R.O.C.K. (Reaching Out with Character and Kindness) Anti-Bullying Kickoff Events were held, however, Heritage held its event indoors as a precaution.
All campuses are planning to follow a normal release schedule this afternoon, though Heritage car riders will be kept inside and escorted to cars by teachers, similar to the campus’s rainy day procedures.
We will continue to monitor the situation throughout the school day, but at this time, we do not believe it will be necessary to cancel after-school activities.
Keller ISD takes all threats of this kind very seriously. District and campus administrators are working closely with law enforcement officials, and additional security personnel will be on campus for the remainder of the day.
Parents at the schools were notified via SchoolMessenger, the district's automatic phone and email contact system.
Should any additional updates become necessary, they will be posted to KellerISD.net, communicated through your home campus, and publicized via Keller ISD's social network accounts (Facebook.com/KellerISD and @Keller ISD).
