The Keller Independent School District has begun the application process towards participating and maintaining its involvement with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
This federal funding source, also known as the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, provides additional Title I resources to six KISD campuses and is based upon a percentage of serving economically disadvantaged children: Caprock, North Riverside, Parkview and Whitley Road elementary schools, Chisholm Trail Intermediate School, and Fossil Hill Middle School currently participate for the 2011-2012 school year.
As part of the application process, The United States Department of Education requires the Keller Independent School District to offer federally funded educational services to eligible children attending non-profit private schools in the geographical area served by the Keller Independent School District under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.
The following federally funded programs are addressed in this policy:
- Title I, Part A Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged
- Title I, Part C Education of the Migratory Children
- Title II, Part A Preparing, Training and Recruiting High Quality Teachers and Principals
- Title III, Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant Students
