Ney, Strong Earn 2013 District Teacher of the Year Honors

Debra Ney of Trinity Meadows Intermediate School and Dan Strong of Timber Creek High School are Keller ISD’s 2013 District Teachers of the Year.

Keller ISD announced this year’s winners at the KISD Education Foundation Gala, Friday, April 29, during which all 39 Campus Teachers of the Year were recognized.

Debra Ney earned the Elementary Teacher of the Year honor. She is a 12-year teaching veteran who has spent all of her teaching career in Keller ISD. For the last three years, she has taught Language Arts to Trinity Meadows sixth graders. There she is known for her passionate advocacy for reading and fostering a love of reading in her students.

Dan Strong earned recognition as the Secondary Teacher of the Year. He has been teaching for five years, and has taught English Language Arts at Timber Creek High School for the past three years. He also serves as the Head Coach of the Falcons’ girls track and field team. Strong stands out for his ability to relate to his students and build relationships with them to help them achieve their educational goals.
