Newest Middle School to be Named Vista Ridge

Keller ISD's Board of Trustees approved Vista Ridge Middle School as the name of the District's seventh middle school set to open in August 2017.

The Board approved the name unanimously at its Regular Meeting on March 9. It also approved Vista Ridge's mascot as the Lions and its primary color as red. Those were the winners of Keller ISD's online poll which took place over two weeks in February.

The results of the poll that garnered the Board's approval were:

  • Vista Ridge Lions, 70.42 percent
  • Alliance Aviators, 14.71 percent
  • Frontier Trailblazers, 3.51 percent
  • Sendero Sabers, 3.36 percent

The results for the primary color poll were:

  • Red, 82.07 percent
  • Gray, 7.15 percent
  • Lime Green, 5.8 percent
  • Orange, 4.98 percent

Vista Ridge is currently under construction off of an extension of Thompson Road, just west of North Riverside Driver. While it will eventually house grades 5-8, it will open in August 2017 with fifth and sixth graders advancing from Basswood Elementary and Sunset Valley Elementary.
