KISD Hosts School Walk for Diabetes on March 31

Keller ISD has teamed up with The American Diabetes Association to host the annual School Walk for Diabetes on Saturday, March 31 from 9 - 11:30 a.m. at the Keller ISD Athletic Stadium.

Nearly 100 Keller ISD students suffer from type 1 diabetes along with an undetermined number of children at risk for type 2. Approximately 23.6 Americans have diabetes and more than 5 million of them do not even know they have the disease. By participating in School Walk for Diabetes, students at Keller ISD actively learn life-long lessons about preventing diabetes and helping others who have the disease.

Funds raised from School Walk for Diabetes will help further the mission of the American Diabetes Association: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

KHS nurse, Debbie Gregor, recently received the Outstanding School Walk for Diabetes Volunteer of the Year Award by the American Diabetes Association. In addition, Keller ISD received an award for being the 5th Top Fundraising District in the entire nation. Let's come together for another outstanding year to support this great cause!

To learn about how your team or school can join the American Diabetes Association’s School Walk for Diabetes, call Debbie Gregor at 817-744-1420 or e-mail deborah.gregor@kellerisd.net
