KISD Boasts Ten National Scholarship Finalists

Keller ISD is excited to announce that ten students were named as Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is a competition sponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Of the 1.5 million annual entrants, fewer than 20,000 become semifinalists and typically around 15,000 are recognized as finalists.

All winners of Merit Scholarship® awards are chosen from the Finalist group, based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments. Beginning in March, the NMSC will notify approximately 8,300 Finalists that they have been selected to receive a Merit Scholarship® award, which is supported by some 440 independent sponsors and by NMSC's own funds.

The National Achievement Scholarship Program, also sponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, is an academic competition that provides recognition for outstanding Black American high school students. Of the 160,000 yearly participants, typically only 1,300 become finalists. Beginning in late February, the National Achievement Program will notify about 800 Finalists that they have been selected to receive a National Achievement Scholarship, either by NMSC or a corporate organization.

Congratulations to these students for this tremendous accomplishment!
