Keller ISD's Board of Trustees learned that the district's preliminary TAKS scores were in the Exemplary range at Tuesday night's meeting, as it also adopted a step pay increment for step system employees.
In the lone regular Board meeting for June, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Deana Lopez presented the district's projected preliminary academic scores for the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). All of KISD's scores were in the Exemplary range according to the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) standards, and the district is projected to once again be rated Recognized by TEA.
The Board also adopted a step increment for step system schedule employees such as teachers, nurses, and licensed specialists in school psychology (LSSP) that will keep Keller ISD teacher salaries competitive with other area school districts.
