Both Keller High's Girls and Boys Basketball Teams are advancing in the UIL Class 6A State Playoffs after wins this week.
The District 3-6A Champion Lady Indians defeated Arlington Bowie 54-44 in the Regional Quarterfinals on Tuesday to advance to this weekend's Region 1-6A Tournament. Keller will take on Duncanville in the first of two Regional Semifinal games on Friday, February 24, at Fort Worth's Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center (5201 C.A. Roberson Boulevard).
KHS and Duncanville will play at 6 p.m. while Arlington Lamar and South Grand Prairie will follow at approximately 8 p.m. The winners of the two games will face off at 1 p.m. Saturday for a trip to the 6A State Championship Tournament. Ticket prices for each day will be $8 for adults and $5 for students. Parking is $5 per vehicle (cash only).
Keller High's Boys Basketball Team also finished the season as District 3-6A and handled its first postseason test Tuesday, defeating Mansfield 60-44. The Indians now face Odessa Permian in the Area Round. KHS will take on the Panthers at 7 p.m. Friday at Clyde High School (500 N. Hays Road in Clyde). Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
Boys basketball teams from Timber Creek and Fossil Ridge also qualified for the playoffs after tremendous regular seasons. Both lost their games in a double-header Monday, February 20. Fossil Ridge fell 76-38 to Arlington Bowie, and Timber Creek's season came to an end after a 78-43 loss to Arlington Martin.
