KHS Girls, Boys Basketball Teams Advance in Postseason

Both Keller High's Girls and Boys Basketball Teams are advancing in the UIL Class 6A State Playoffs after wins this week. 

The District 3-6A Champion Lady Indians defeated Arlington Bowie 54-44 in the Regional Quarterfinals on Tuesday to advance to this weekend's Region 1-6A Tournament. Keller will take on Duncanville in the first of two Regional Semifinal games on Friday, February 24, at Fort Worth's Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center (5201 C.A. Roberson Boulevard).

KHS and Duncanville will play at 6 p.m. while Arlington Lamar and South Grand Prairie will follow at approximately 8 p.m. The winners of the two games will face off at 1 p.m. Saturday for a trip to the 6A State Championship Tournament. Ticket prices for each day will be $8 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets will go on sale at the arena 90 minutes prior to the first game, or they may be purchased online by visiting Parking is $5 per vehicle (cash only).

Keller High's Boys Basketball Team also finished the season as District 3-6A and handled its first postseason test Tuesday, defeating Mansfield 60-44. The Indians now face Odessa Permian in the Area Round. KHS will take on the Panthers at 7 p.m. Friday at Clyde High School (500 N. Hays Road in Clyde).  Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Boys basketball teams from Timber Creek and Fossil Ridge also qualified for the playoffs after tremendous regular seasons. Both lost their games in a double-header Monday, February 20. Fossil Ridge fell 76-38 to Arlington Bowie, and Timber Creek's season came to an end after a 78-43 loss to Arlington Martin.
