Is it true the high schools will move to seven-period days next year to save money?
Nothing is final yet, but the move to a seven-period day at all four Keller ISD high schools is quite likely.
The seven-period day could be part of the budget adjustments made as we go forward into 2011-12.
Because the schedule is formula-driven, it provides a format within which staff and instructional time can be used more efficiently with as little as possible decline in available course offerings for students.
Several surrounding districts use the seven-period day – Northwest ISD currently uses a seven-period day, and Grapevine-Colleyville recently voted to go to it – and campus and central administration are studying these schedules in order to implement the best possible schedule at Keller ISD high schools.
