There is a rumor going around in Marshall Ridge that the new elementary school will not open due to budget shortfalls. Is this a possibility? If so, when will the subdivision be made aware of the change?
The elementary school currently under construction in the Marshall Ridge community is on schedule to be opened Fall 2011.
While construction continues throughout the spring, the Keller Independent School District is facing the same budget challenges that many of the school districts throughout the state are facing. Several options are being discussed at this time and one of those options is to postpone the opening of the new Elementary No. 22 campus.
The amount of funding that will be provided, as well as determining the student-to-teacher ratio will help determine what options are available to the District.
KISD Administration is hopeful that additional direction and information will be provided from the state level within the next two months. This will enable the Administration to provide information to our parents and community as to what has been decided prior to the end of school in May.
